Daniel J. Bailey, 61 of Abington, died peacefully January 8, 2015 with family at his bedside, after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Joyce Anne Bailey (Kelly) for more than 39 years.

Born in Weymouth, February 18, 1953, he lived in Brockton and Whitman before moving to Abington in 1980.

A loving son, husband, father, grandfather and brother , he received immense pleasure from spending time with family, enjoyed many outside activities and was a avid Patriot’s and Red Sox fan. Daniel was a graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School in Brockton, class of 1971 and was employed by Shaw’s Supermarket until retirement.

Daniel was the loving son of Muriel C Bailey and the late Paul L Bailey. He is survived by his wife Joyce of Abington, 3 children, Katelyn Bowman and husband Michael of Cheshire CT, Jaclyn Miller and husband Roger of Abington and Ashley Bailey of Whitman. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Michael, Molly, James, Emily and Anna of Cheshire, Abigail and Isabelle of Abington and Bradley of Whitman; brother’s Paul Bailey of New Hampshire, John Bailey of Abington , sister Kathy Ewing of Stoughton and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Quealy and Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington, Tuesday January 13 at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Bridget’s Church, Abington, 9 a.m. Visitation Monday 4 to 8 p.m. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Rockland.
