Dorothea A. (Iacchei) Smaldone of Abington, MA formerly of Providence, RI and Longwood, FL, passed into Eternal Life on April 23, 2015, at the age of 92. She was the loving wife of the late John A. Smaldone.
She leaves her children and their families. Cheryl and Joseph D’Antonio of Abington, MA, John and Robin Smaldone of Johnston, Rhode Island and James Smaldone and Ann Deal of Longwood, Florida. Grandchildren Joseph and Karen D’Antonio, Stephanie and Stephen McSweeney, Brooke and Jim Whittaker, Christopher Smaldone and Lindsey Deal, Amanda Smaldone and PJ Leimgruber and Ryan Smaldone. She also leaves five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Jennie and Louis Iacchei, her brother, John Iacchei and her sister, Norma Pacia.
A sincere thank you to the kind staff at South Shore Rehab in Rockland, MA for their loving and compassionate care of Dot over the last year and a half.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul in Coventry Rhode Island at 9 AM on Saturday, May 2, 2015 with interment at Highland Memorial Park in Johnston, Rhode Island.
Donations may be made in Dorothea’s name to Bishop Hendriken High School in Warwick, Rhode Island.
