Please accept our deepest sympathy on the passing of your beloved mother. I didn't know your mother personally but she had quite the family a real tribute of love and devotion to all of you. Patricia is on my prayer list I wish her eternal happiness.
Love to all, Rita

Oh Mrs. Dykens!
You were a second mother to me. I can still see you stirring the giant pot of pea soup and laying out a whole loaf of bread on the table to make a dozen peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for your brood to bring to school. Having been raised as an only child myself, it was always entertaining to me to see all your children bicker over who was going to do dishes that night. I envied that "largeness" of family and all it's interactions. You were the only mother in our neighborhood who cooked for her family using potatoes from a 50lb. bag! You were so savvy with shopping too, always saving a bit of butter and egg money so that you could purchase something special for your kids. I remember thinking that it was genius when you would make a dozen "sunshine cups" from a single container of orange sherbet using Dixie cups. You certainly were a mother of invention in so many ways. I thank you too, for putting me in my place a time or two when I was acting too big for my britches. Those were the last of the days when it took a village to raise a child. I will always love and respect you, Love, Karen (Stachowski) Linehan-Ward
