Sarah 'Edna' Tracey, 95, of Abington passed away December 14, 2016.

Edna was blessed with a long, happy life full of adventure, friends, and family.  She was the daughter of the late Florence (MacPhail) and James Tracey of Abington. She was the devoted cousin of Thomas Edward and Josephine MacPhail of Whitman, MA, Heather and Don LaDieu of Rochester Hills, MI, the late Douglas MacPhail and John and the late Carol Marsh of Scituate, MA.

She was the proud Auntie of Bucky, Luke and Josh LaDieu, Jesse and Jennifer MacPhail, Molly MacPhail, Margo LaPointe, Liam and Jack MacPhail and Avery and Annabelle LaPointe. A lifetime of beloved friends quickly became like family to her, including her lifelong best friend Dottie Boyce, Mary MacDougall, and those that helped take care of her as she had taken care of so many, including as she would say, "My Tom" LaPointe.

Edna was a graduate of the Abington High Class of 1939, and remained actively involved in her town through her many roles including Abington High School secretary, Abington Alumni Association, Abington Garden Club, and secretary at the United Church of Christ.

Edna had many achievements in her life. A graduate of Higgins Commercial Business School in Boston, she enjoyed a successful career at Kemper Insurance in Brockton and working directly with David Babson as an Investment Appraiser at David Babson & Co. Investment Advising at 40 Broad Street in Boston.

Always with a beaming smile on her face, Edna enjoyed nothing more than making the house she built a home by filling it with friends and family. Her door was always open to a family member in need, whether relatives coming into town from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia or filling her home with friends and family as she hosted countless parties and celebrations throughout the years.

Life was an adventure for Edna, and her travels took her around the world. Bermuda, Ireland, Scotland, England, The British Isles, Miami, California, the Grand Canyon and so many more. She enjoyed them all but her favorite destination of all was "her Cape Breton home", Nova Scotia.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday December 19th at 11am in the Quealy & Son Funeral Home at 116 Adams Street, Abington. Visitation will be prior to the service Monday 10 to 11am. Interment Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Abington.
