Marine Sgt. Daniel M. Vasselian of Abington, killed in action Dec. 23, 2013 in Afghanistan while serving his 3rd tour at the age of 27. Loving husband of Erin (Doyle) Vasselian of Abington; Loving son of Mark A. Vasselian of NH and Karen (Connor) Vasselian of Abington; Loving brother of Jeannine, Julianne, and Joseph Vasselian all of Abington; Loving grandson of Jeanne Vasselian of Abington and the late Robert G. Vasselian, Thomas P. Connor of Quincy and the late Beverly Abbott; Loving son-in-law of David and Patricia (O’Neill) Doyle of Abington and family; Loving uncle of Cayleb and Shaelyn Berrio. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Daniel graduated from Abington High School Class of 2004 and joined the Marines in December of 2006 where he was stationed in Hawaii with 2/3 Echo Company Infantry with whom he deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.  He re-enlisted for an additional four years and was stationed in Quantico, VA with CI Company as a combat instructor. He was last stationed with Bravo Company 1/9 at Camp Lejeune in the infantry unit before being deployed to Afghanistan.

Funeral from the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street, Abington  Thursday January 2 at 8am followed by a mass in St. Bridget Church, Abington 9am. Visitation Wednesday 3 to 7pm. Interment Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Abington.
