Stanley William “Bill” Chapin, of Abington, passed away at the age of 70 after a brief illness.  Born in Arlington, MA to the late Stanley and Ida Bissonette Chapin. He graduated from Bristol County Agricultural High School in 1965.  He served in the Air Force from 1966-1970, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam.  After his service he settled in Abington where he raised his family.  He worked for 30 years as the warehouse manager for Hendries then Hood, Inc.  His passion was his greenhouse and flowers as the owner of Abington Greenhouses.  He is survived by his former wife Kathleen Chapin, his children, Bill Chapin and his wife Kathy of Cullman, AL, Kelli Kennedy and her husband Remi, Timothy Chapin and his wife Meaghan , Matthew Chapin and his wife Lynne, Harla Manesis and her husband Michael, and Daniel Chapin, all of Abington; his 9 grandchildren whom he loved to care for; Lauren, Will, Colin, Ryan, Camryn, Makenzie, Madelyn, Margaret, and Joshua; his brothers Michael Chapin of Halifax, and Paul Chapin of Mashpee.  He was predeceased by his sister, Sr. Bernadette Chapin, CDP.  A funeral Mass will take place on Saturday October 24 at 9am in St. Bridget Church, Abington. Visitation hours will be on Friday, October 23 from 4 to 8pm at Quealy Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boston VA Healthcare System, Voluntary & Recreation Service ATTN: Stanley Chapin Memorial Gift Fund 1400 VFW Parkway West Roxbury, MA 02132.
