Jo-Ann (Murray) Cullen entered into eternal life July 20, 2017. She fought a courageous battle with diabetes and heart disease for 46 years. Born and raised in Abington (a great Townie), daughter of the late Harry M. and Helen J. (Gallagher) Murray. Devoted mother of Christopher M. Cullen and grandmother of Brittany; Sister to Elaine Murray of Weymouth, David Murray of Yarmouth, and James Murray and wife Judy of NH; Predeceased by sister, Cynthia V. Woods, and brothers, Paul, Martin, and Louis Murray. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, sister and brother in Laws, aunts, and her cat George.
Jo-Ann was an Editor and Proof Reader for New England Art Publishing for 28 years. She enjoyed coaching for the Abington Little League for six years with her team sponsored by Martin’s Bakery and loved to help prepare (painting and carpentry) the St. Patrick Day Float.
Jo-Ann graduated from Abington High class of 1970 and attended technical school for medical billing and coding. Her passion was motorcycle racing. She raced in Florida, New York, New Hampshire, and Canada.
Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams St., Abington on Saturday July 29 from 4 to 7pm, followed by a funeral service at 7pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Jo-Ann to: Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin PL, Boston, MA 02215.
