Agnes (Ricketson) Stephen, 90, of Abington, MA, passed away after a brief illness. She is the wife of the late William J. Stephen, Sr.. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Jean Ricketson, her brother, Herbert Ricketson, Jr., and her son, Gary F. Stephen. Agnes is survived by her sons: William “Rusty” Stephen, Jr. and wife, Susie, of Lampasas, TX; Dana Stephen and wife, Michelle, of Brockton, MA, and Daryl Stephen and wife, Deb, of Braintree, MA. Agnes had six grandsons—Will, James and Joshua Stephen of Texas; Daryl Lee, Garrett, and Ryan Stephen of MA. Agnes also had the following great grandchildren: Zachary, Zane, Lilly, Decil, Jackson and Landon. She was a 1947 graduate of Braintree High School, and later graduated from Mass General as a Registered Nurse. Agnes worked at Mass General, South Shore Hospital, and later became the Director of Nursing at Cohasset Knoll and Administrator at Easton Lincoln Nursing Home. Agnes was an instructor and on the Board for the Bay State Remotivation Council for the Elderly and later pursued patient care for those with Alzheimers. When her children were young, she truly enjoyed spending time camping in New Hampshire and White Horse Beach in Plymouth with her friends and family. She loved New Hampshire and visited her son’s home in Bartlett, NH, where she was no stranger. Agnes was actively involved as a member of the Christadelphian community. Since Agnes was a nurse and caregiver to all, the family would request in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of their choice.
Visiting hours will be at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington, MA, on Monday, August 26, 2019, from 9:30 to 11:00am, immediately following will be the Funeral Service and then the burial at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree, MA.
