Preskenis, Anne “Nancy” (Pishkin)

Anne “Nancy” Preskenis, 73, of Abington, wife of Robert “Bob” Preskenis, passed away on August 8th due to complications from Parkinson’s. The eldest daughter of Joseph and Anne Pishkin (Roche) of Dorchester, MA, Nancy taught English for many years, at both Plymouth North High School and Plymouth North Intermediate School in Plymouth, MA and  Rockland High School in Rockland, MA.  In addition to dedication to her students, Nancy was a loving wife and mother with a passion for all holidays; her Christmases and Thanksgivings created a lifetime of memories for her family and those around her.  In retirement, Nancy was an active and enthusiastic member of the Abington Garden Club, serving as its President for many years.  She was also an intrepid traveler, visiting China, as well as Europe and the Caribbean.  Throughout her life, she was an avid hunter… of bargains, always quick to spot a deal and eager to tell the tale.  Nancy was preceded by her brothers James and Walter Pishkin, and she leaves behind her husband Robert; her sons Mark, Matthew (and Niki) and James; her brothers Joseph (and Karen), Richard, Robert (and Jean) and Edward (and Lena) Pishkin; her sisters Audrey (and Brian) Hughes, Regina Luongo, Jeanette (and Jerry) MacNeil, and Barbara Pishkin; her grandson Charlton; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.  Viewing and visiting hours will be on Monday, August 13th from 4pm to 8pm at Quealy and Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington MA, with a funeral Mass at 9am on Tuesday, August 14th at St. Bridget’s Church at 455 Plymouth Street, Abington, MA.
