You all know how much I love you, and words can't describe the heartache I feel for you guys during this time. Derrick, that little firecracker who was always living life on the edge will always be in my heart. Derrick always had a way of finding the quietest person in the room and getting them to open up. He was always a giver, and cared so deeply about the important people in his life. Laura, he always had your back. I remember one day when you came downstairs wearing no makeup, hair a mess (as I do almost every morning) and Derrick immediately shot me a look like "don't you dare judge my ma!" feeling like he needed to protect you, but also half joking. And Derrick's dad Pat, he would always rush home to be able to take the bikes out together. He loved your company and treasured those moments out on the bike with his dad. Amanda was like his best friend, and Pat his hero. We will always love Derrick, and we will always keep his memory alive. Love you all, I'll see you on Thursday. <3

We are deeply saddened to hear of Derricks passing and would like to send our condolences to the Kelly family. Derrick was a genuine, fun-loving guy who we shared many fond memories with. We will always remember him for his sense of humor, his ability to make anyone laugh, his hard work ethic and his thoughtfulness. Derrick loved and cared for those around him deeply and that is something i noticed about him right away. We always enjoyed his company and know he will forever be deeply missed.
