Donald Remillard Jr. Obituary

On Monday, December 3rd Donald Paul Remillard Jr. loving husband and father of 3, passed away at the age of 49 after a courageous battle with colorectal cancer. His final hours were spent at home surrounded by his loving family.

Donny was born on October 20, 1969 in Quincy, MA to his loving and devoted mother Rosemary (Uhlar) Remillard also from Quincy, MA who was his closest friend and confidante.

Donald was married to Tracy (White) Remillard “T Rem” as he lovingly called her who was his best friend, loving wife, his anchor, his soulmate, his everything for 21 years, they had 3 beautiful children:  Jamie, Kristyanna and Brendan. Don is survived by many Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, and friends.

To know Donny was to love him!  He had a non stop sense of fun and humor and was always the character with “the story to tell."  Don was always known as the big tough guy with amazing loyalty and a gentle heart ,and a guy who never had a bad word to say about anyone.

Don was the ultimate dad who was always there for his kids; from bottles and diapers to coaching and college searches. His favorite part of life was being surrounded by his family, spending quality time with them and making them laugh!  Don coached both his son and daughter’s basketball teams and very much enjoyed watching them play and also “fighting” with the refs. Don never stopped taking care of his children! He loved kids in general and always stopped to chat with them and make them laugh.  Kids naturally gravitated toward Donny due to his playful spirit. Don’s faithful 4-legged companions Stasia and Red will miss him terribly.

Donny had a passion for all sports and could list off any player, team and every stat on them but loved his Bruins, Celtics & Patriots the most!  Donny was so blessed to have many friends and his friends were like his family. He was adored for his loyalty and great sense of humor!

We would like to give special thanks to his wonderful nurses Michelle & Megan at the Oncology Department at the Greene Cancer Center of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center but most notably Michelle Randall who took care of Don for most of his time during his chemo treatments.

Thank you to Donny Paul’s wonderful loving aunts and uncles and Tracy’s loving Aunt Gail and Uncle Skip who made one of Don’s wishes on his bucket list to swim in blue waters come true sending Don & Tracy to Key West, Florida which was like the honeymoon they never had.

Thank you to the community of Abington for their kindness, support, love and prayers during this difficult time!
