Georgianna Melanson

Georgianna Melanson, age 97, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 3rd, 2019. Georgianna was the Wife of the late Charles Melanson for over 45 years, and is the mother of the late Charles R. Melanson. Georgianna is survived by her daughters Lori Melanson and her Fiancé Robert Peterson of Orlando, FL and Charlene (Melanson) O’Connor of Whitman, also survived by her grandchildren Danny Melanson of Abington, Doug Melanson and his wife Ashley of Abington, Laura O’Connor of Rockland, Timothy O’Connor of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Abby O’Connor of Whitman and Craig O’Connor of Whitman. She also leaves behind her great grandchild Matthew Kilduff of Rockland.

 Georgianna was born in Boston, grew up in South Boston and lived in Weymouth, Plymouth and Abington before residing in Natick for 14 years then moving to Whitman for 1 year. She served as a waitress at many Hotels including The Western in Boston, where she earned many awards for her waitressing skills. Throughout her lifetime Georgianna was involved in several bowling leagues at the Fairway Bowling Alley in Natick, where she also taught many young teens how to bowl. Georgianna had a special kind of love for bowling and for the Fairway Bowling Alley. Over the years she made many friends and memories in Natick, they all loved Georgianna dearly.

Georgianna was an amazing person inside and out, who always knew how to light up a dull room. Always making any person laugh no matter the situation. She taught her children and grandchildren the more important things in life, that they will forever remember. She had the most amazing spirit and energy up until her passing. Georgianna was a proud Mother and Grandmother, and made it known. Georgianna was loved very much and is going to be missed by all.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours for Georgianna on Sunday, October 6th from 4-8 PM at Quealy and Son Funeral Home located at 116 Adams St, Abington, MA. Funeral Mass will take place the following day, Monday October 7th at 9 AM at St. Bridget’s Parish located at 455 Plymouth St, Abington MA.
