Gordon Barr of Fall River, July 4, 2018, age 60, born July 6, 1957 to John and Helen Barr and married to Joanne Harris; loving father of Beth Hogan and her husband Dan of Milford, PA; Gordon Oliver Justin Barr of So. Gardiner,ME; Lisa Barr of Fall River; Kay Jewels of Westwood; and the late Nicole Barr who died of SIDs as an infant. Loving brother of Helen Lewis and her husband Warren of Abington, John Barr of Whitman, Vicki Watlington and Kenneth of Abington. Loving grandfather of Abigail, Rebecca, Samuel, John, Elijah, Angelina, Shawn Robert, Anthony, and Olga’s grandchildren Alexandre and Adam. Also, he will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews. Following his divorce, he shared his life with his soul mate Olga Carreire for more than 20 years in Fall River.
He worked at Honeywell-Bull and EMC as an engineer where he produced 9 different patents. He also worked for Interflex Compnay and as a visiting scientist at Brown University in RI working with students. He was never happier than when he was inventing. He could always make you laugh and had an enormous capacity to love.
Gordon was a mason in Norumbega Fraternity Lodge in Newton with his father and brother.
A funeral service will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street, Abington on Monday July 9 at 10am. Visitation Sunday 4 to 8pm. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
