James T. Griffin of Plympton formerly of Abington, age 90, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family and loved ones on June 4, 2018.
Jimmy was the son of the late Lawrence Griffin of Abington and Annie (Ward) Griffin of Ireland. He was the beloved husband of Irene (Ware) Griffin for 65 years. Jimmy was a long time resident of Abington and graduated from Abington High School.
He was a life-long communicant of St. Bridget Church. Jimmy was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Holy Name Society, and the Historical Society of Abington. Jimmy played football at Abington High School and Abington Old Town. Jimmy’s life was dedicated to his family as well as his family business, Griffin’s Dairy, where he was a proud farmer and milkman. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his wife Irene, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Irene; His daughter Jane and husband Michael Devlin of Plympton; His son Christopher and partner Kathy O’Toole of Abington; His daughter Judith and husband Thomas Kelley of Plymouth; His sister Esther Griffin of Abington, and the late Mary Griffin, Lawrence Griffin Jr., and Vincent Griffin; Loving father of the late James Griffin Jr. and Timothy Griffin; Also, survived by many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends;
Funeral from the Quealy and Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street, Abington Friday June 8 at 8am followed by a funeral mass in St. Bridget Church, Abington 9am. Visitation Thursday 4 to 7pm. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland
