PATTEN, Jean Rodgers, age 94, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and South Weymouth and Abington, MA, died peacefully on January 7, 2019, at Chatsworth in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Born in Lewiston, Maine, Jean was the daughter of renowned organist in radio and local Masonic Lodges in the metropolitan Boston area, Harry Rodgers and his wife, Jessie. Her brother, Harry, played trombone for the Big Bands back in the day. Jean had a wonderful music and art talent and enjoyed a successful career as an organ performer and teacher in the greater Boston area which she continued when she moved with her husband to West Palm Beach in 1968. Jean was predeceased by her beloved, Elliot, only nine months ago, as well as her daughter, Leonie and her son, Kenneth many years ago. She will be sorely missed by her daughter, Janice, who inherited none of her musical or art talent! She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Sandi, Kenneth and Jennifer, along with her great grandchildren, Jordan, Tyler and Tory,
and five nieces and one nephew.
Visiting hours will be 10:00-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, at the Quealy and Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington, MA, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
