Richard S. Little

Richard Little (1949-2019) passed away peacefully at his home in Watertown on May 14, 2019, surrounded by his family:  wife Kathleen (née Dowling), son Kevin, daughter Kristin, and grandson Henry.  He is also survived by grandchildren Elliott, Jonah, and Naomi, as well as his daughter-in-law, Annie Schwartz, and son-in-law, Scott Ziemba, whom he thought of as family.  Richard grew up in Abington, where he married Kathleen in 1973 in St. Bridget’s church.  Rich and Kathy lived on Summer Street, where they raised their family while Rich worked as an executive for a cleaning company, employing many friends and family members along the way.  After the children were grown, Rich and Kathy moved into Boston, where Rich earned a certificate in finance from Harvard Business School.  They later lived in Boulder, Colorado, and Gunnison, Colorado, before returning to Watertown.

Richard was a man of faith and a man of letters.  He loved reading and discussing literature, poetry, and scripture.  Whether deep in prayer at the Paulist Center or deep in conversation at the Sail Loft, Richard brought his unique and incisive perspective to each encounter, always willing to challenge the conventional wisdom, yet always grounded in his family and his faith.
