Samuel C. Greenlaw

April 6, 1924 ~ August 30, 2017 (age 93) 93 Years Old


Samuel C. Greenlaw, age 93, passed away peacefully on August 30 at home with the loving care and comfort of his family and caregivers.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 69 years, Catherine.  He is survived by his three children, Sammye Woodcock (David) of Belchertown, Jonathan Greenlaw (Colleen) of Abington and Ted Greenlaw (Robin Carlsen) of Rockland.  .

He was the beloved grandfather of Jason Woodcock (Jen Merrigan), Timothy Woodcock (Suzanne),

Kyle Greenlaw, Sara Greenlaw White( Jacob) and Melissa Greenlaw Roman (Gabe).

He was the greatgrandfather of Sarah Woodcock,  Jacob Woodcock, Alexander Woodcock, Rosabel Woodcock and Makenzie Roman.  

 

Sam was born and raised in Maine and was the son of Helen and Samuel E. Greenlaw.  

He was predeceased by his siblings Marion, Byron, Donald, Robert, Mary and Caroline . He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

 

He proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II and had a lifelong love of aviation.

 

Sam worked for the former Tedeschi Realty Corporation as a construction superintendent and for many years as a vice president in charge of construction before retiring.

 

The Greenlaw family extends its heartfelt thanks to Sam’s family of caregivers:

Mary Lou Graham, Susan Emanuel, Kim Johnson, and Lori Walls for their compassionate care and loving concern .  The family also extends its gratitude to the nurses and staff of Old Colony Hospice for the care they provided to Sam at home. In addition, the family would like to thank Mr. Tom Constantine for his visits and concern.

 

A funeral service will be held at Quealy and Son Funeral Home at 116 Adams Street, Abington on Saturday, September 9 at 11:30 a.m.  Visitation before the service is at 9:30 to 11:30.  Interment follows at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Abington.  

 

Donations may be made to Old Colony Hospice and Palliative Care , 321 Manley Street, West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
