Thaddeus M. Malloy

Thaddeus M Malloy (Ted) 87 of Abington, formerly of Greenock Scotland passed away peacefully on Saturday February 23rd, 2019. 

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Margaret and his daughter Laura Kelly and husband Patrick of Abington, 3 grandchildren Amanda Kelly of Abington, Patrick Kelly Jr and his wife Shannon of Hanover and the late Derrick Kelly, 3 great grandchildren Cameron, Sadie and Anthony.  Preceded in death by his brothers and sisters John Malloy, Mary Malloy, Jenny Curley, Isabell Nicholson and Catherine Dale. 

Ted worked as a mechanical engineer for Greyhound Bus lines in the South Boston garage known to all his co-workers as "Scotty".  After Ted's retirement he could be found rain or shine at Ames Nowell State Park walking his dog (and he outlived many a dog). 

Ted will be remembered by his family and friends as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. 

Ted took pride in everything he did, a man of integrity, A solid Scotsman. 

Growing up on the coast of Scotland he had a great love of the sea, as a young man he worked as a shipbuilder before immigrating to the United States.  

Ted had a true talent for music and could play any instrument he put his hands on and like his sister Jenny had a beautiful voice.  Every Malloy family party was filled with music and song. 

We as a family feel lucky to have had him for 87 years, he will be greatly missed.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bridget's Church in Abington at 9am with reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Ted's name to an animal shelter of your choice.
