Amelian "Skinny"
Pastuszak

Amelian "Skinny" Pastuszak, lifelong resident of Abington, passed away on May 22, 2024, at the age of 103. Skinny was born on January 3, 1921, in East Weymouth, he was the son of the late Max and Mary (Ordecha) Pastuszak and husband of 75 years to his late wife Veronica.
Amelian was a graduate of Abington High School and received an associate degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology and continued his education at Fitchburg State College. He was later awarded an honorary bachelor's degree at Wentworth and inducted into the school's Black and Gold Society. He proudly served in the US Marine Corp during World War II. Amelian was a welder at the Fore River Shipyard, a contractor, and established a career as a teacher at South Easton Regional Vocational School for 15 years retiring in 1984. He later went on to create cabinetry, furniture, cutting boards, and building pieces out of exotic wood. He became a familiar face at local craft shows well into his 90's.
He was a part of many organizations including Abington House Authority for 20 years, Local 424 Carpenters Union for 71 years, a former member of the Lions Club, Charter Member of the VFW, member of the Polish Club and Mass Teacher's Association. He was also one of the organizers of the Abington Midget Football League. He enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, and getting together to play cribbage and cards with friends. He looked forward to his weekly breakfast group meet ups at Martin's Bakery. But most importantly he enjoyed visits with family in his Abington home.
He is survived by his son, John and his wife Joan (Crosby) Pastuszak, (of Mashpee), grandchildren Danielle Pastuszak (of Cambridge) and Lauren (Pastuszak) Stevens and her husband Michael Stevens, and his great-grandchildren Cole Michael Stevens and Henry John Stevens (of West Hartford). He is also survived by his brother Walter Paster (of Plymouth) and many nieces and nephews.
