Barbara A. Tower, 93, of Hingham, MA, formerly of Abington, MA, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 18th, 2026, at South Shore Hospital. Born on April 15th, 1933, in Melrose, Barbara was one of two children of the late Henry and Mary Feltrup (Mary Kerwin), with 3 brothers from her extended family of Edward Kerwin. Barbara lived in Malden until the age of 8, then had to move to South Boston, due to the death of her father. Barbara attended South Boston High School, graduating in 1952. Barbara was a stay-at-home-Mom until her children were older, then worked as an office manager/bookkeeper, ending her career working for the Division of Capital Planning/Real Estate for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles A. Tower Sr, married just 1 month shy of 65 years. She leaves behind her 4 children, Charles Tower Jr and his wife Tina of Raynham, MA, David Tower and his wife Joanne of Weymouth, MA, Linda Koehler and her husband Frederick of Lyman, ME and Judith Pucci and her husband Joseph of Rockland, MA. Barbara was the loving "Grammy" of 9 grandchildren and their spouses: Adam, Jenna & Craig, Brendon & Erin, Danielle & Thomas, Evan & Hiromi, Ryan, Emily & Eric, Matthew & Michelle and Angela & Nate and "GG" to her 9 great grandchildren: Chase, Bradyen, Eleanor, Hunter, Madelyn, Mariah, Alexander, Nicholas and Nathaniel. Family and friends were her lifeline, always welcoming all to dinners, luncheons, tea or cards.

Barbara belonged to numerous clubs and organizations throughout her life, always becoming involved and contributing: Cub Scouts, Campfire Girls, Abington Citizens' Scholarship Fund, St. Bridget's Sodality, Abington Garden Club, square dancing and round dancing. She was honored to be a Eucharistic Minister for the Roman Catholic Church. Most recently, Barbara lived at Linden Ponds in Hingham, for the past 5 years. She greatly enjoyed belonging to this wonderful community, with all the activities, clubs and friends who supported and loved her.

Barbara was known for her kindness, fun-loving spirit, and skill at organizing others. She loved to travel, dance, play cards, garden and socialize with friends and family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bridget's Church, 455 Plymouth Street, Abington, MA, on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow privately at Holy Family Cemetery, 175 Broadway, Malden, MA.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the Beechwood Village Clubhouse, 2 Tanglewood Lane, Rockland, MA.
