Betty Ann
Macdonald
June 28, 1953 – March 29, 2025
Her name was Betty Ann (Koch) MacDonald but she was so much more than her names and titles. These are just some of the names that she was best known by to the people who loved her. Her first title was Daughter (to Paul and Marie(Jager) Koch), followed by Older sister to (Ellen & Skip), cousin (to many) Wife(to Jim MacDonald for 47 years), Mom (to Jimmy, Timmy, Scott & Kristen) Mother-in-Law(to Dallas - Timmy's wife, Amy - Jimmy's wife, Kelly- Scott's wife, Cory - Kristen's husband) Hockey Mom, Nana (to Lauren, Matt, Megan, Brandon, Tyler, Kaylee, Ryan, Chayson, Cameron, Evan, Collyn, Carson & Kora), Hockey Nana, Great -Nana (to soon to be Jane Elizabeth) , Aunt Bet (to many nieces and nephews), Bet, Betty,Bettyann (to family & friends) Crossing Guard, Lunchroom worker, Friend, and most importantly Christian.
The last title is the most important one because BettyAnn had the ability to lovingly fill all of these titles and roles because of her faith and hope in Christ Jesus. Whatever name or title you called her you knew she loved you!
She spent her life loving and supporting our family and her friends in more ways than any of us can begin to count. Her life was filled by serving and thinking of others' needs.
Besides taking care of the people she loved, she also loved gardening. She would make the best "Nana Mac's Bread & Butter Pickles", black and white cookies and countless jars of spaghetti sauce.
She also enjoyed traveling to see her grandkids games or activities. If she couldn't be there she enjoyed watching many games online. She also was gifted and excelled at correcting referee or umpire calls when needed.
Traveling was also something she enjoyed all of her life. Family trips meant the most to her! She enjoyed a trip to France, and just last year a cruise on the Mississippi River with Dad. But by far her favorite trips to plan were the numerous "family reunions" over the last 15 years. We will forever be thankful to her for her love and dedication to pull those trips together.
Summer was definitely her favorite season of the year. She was a summer baby after all! She loved spending time by the pool with family and especially the grandkids. Sometimes she was able to get us all to the beach too. Her favorite summer event each year was going to see Kenny Chesney with her besties Kristen and Cyndi.
Her best work though was the love she poured into her family and friends over the years. We will all miss her greatly but are so thankful for all of the not so good and good times we got to spend with her.
She is now fully healed and at peace with her Lord and savior Christ Jesus.
1 Corinthians 13:13 So now faith, hope and love abide, but the greatest of these things are love. She no longer needs faith or hope because she is with her creator God who is love.
