Bonny
Barthelemy
January 15, 1956 – June 1, 2025
Bonny Barthelemy, 69, of Abington, MA, died peacefully on June 1, 2025. Born and raised in Cyvadier, Jacmel, Haiti, Bonny was the beloved son of the late Dieujuste Barthelemy and Germaine Avril Barthelemy. After completing his classical studies, Bonny attended Ecole Professional De Jacmel, where he graduated as a tailor. Upon graduating, Bonny and his brother-in-law, Daniel Bonnet, launched Style Moderne, a tailor shop in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Their shop became a cornerstone of the community, providing quality clothing and employment opportunities. As a young man, his passion was hunting wild guinea (pintad maron), and he was known for his skill and respect for nature.
Bonny gave his life to Christ very young at Premier Eglise Baptist de Cite Fidel, the church his grandfather, the late Bonifas Barthelemy, founded. Bonny attended L'eglise Nazarene Amis de la Sagesse, where he became the lead deacon. While attending L'Eglise Nazarene Amis de la Sagesse, he met his lovely wife, Elna (Simpreux) Barthelemy, whom he married in October 1995. Bonny joined TBC, where he was an active member of the Men's Ministry, TBC Choir, Couple Ministry, and Care Leader. Bonny was sociable and enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. He was known for his infectious laughter and his love for storytelling. It was nothing for Bonny to drive 24 hours to come and see about family or friends. Everyone knew "Frere Bo," from young children to older people. He was a guiding light who loved to encourage others to reach their full potential. He will always be remembered for his love and generous heart.
Bonny was the beloved husband of Elna (Simpreux) Barthelemy and the loving father of Belinda (Jeff) Jean-Charles, Julie Barthelemy, Alexander Barthelemy, Luckens Barthelemy, and Peter Barthelemy. Brother of Dieucile (Daniel) Bonnet, RosmeneLouijeune, Elize (Marleine) Barthelemy, Genevieve (Ernst) Etienne, Jean Rene (Lucia) Barthelemy, Dieunord (the late Rosenie) Barthelemy, Jermina (Rochelle) Corneille, Lenord Barthelemy. Bonny leaves to mourn his passing aunt Leanne (St. Paul), Francois, Uncle Ulrick (Lissi), Avril, and a plethora of nephews, grand nephews, nieces, grand nieces, cousins, friends and acquaintances. To the families Barthelemy, Simpreux, Avril, Jeanty, Bonnet, Louijeune, Etienne, Corneille, Eugene, Rois, Jean Louis, Desiral, Jean, Laguerre, and Jean Philippe, all of whom shared precious memories with Bonny. Our deepest condolences go out to all who knew and loved Bonny. May those memories remain engraved in our hearts.
