Obituary

Brenda "Ren" (Solomon) Green, 79, died on November 15, 2025, in Attleboro, MA after a long illness. Known as Nanuweeta, she served as the Powwusk of the Massachusett Tribe at Ponkapoag. A lifelong learner and seeker, Ren dedicated her life to social justice and the of her community. She worked for decades as a community advocate particularly around women's issues, including work as an abuse and trauma counselor. In later life she became a healer with an openness to incorporating multiple traditions and modalities. As Powwusk, Nanuweeta was faithfully committed to the spiritual and material welfare of the Tribe.

Ren was born in Brockton, MA on May 29, 1946, to the late Rhoderick and Alice (Banks) Solomon. She is survived by her six children Richard "Darryl" Innis, Cyril "Dougie" Innis (wife Carmen), Tanja Gray, Alysha Gray (husband George Carle), Faries Gray, Thomas Green (partner Tanya Dickerson), and Nicholas Green as well as many cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also survived by her sister Elizabeth Solomon (husband Michael Rice) and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Gilbert Solomon, William Solomon, and Richard Solomon.

A Visiting hour will be start at 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM the funeral service  will be at Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street Abington, MA on Friday November 21 promptly at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Sharon.
