Cathy Ann
(Frederickson) Gambino
November 5, 1952 – March 2, 2026
Cathy A. Gambino, 73, a longtime resident of Abington and Sandwich, Ma. passed away peacefully at home after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 5, 1952, in Brockton, Cathy was a proud graduate of Randolph High School, Class of 1970. She went on to build a successful career as an interior decorator, sharing her creativity and eye for beauty with many families over the years. Cathy was the beloved wife of Richard P. Gambino, with whom she shared 53 devoted years of marriage. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and unconditional love. Cathy's life revolved around her children and grandchildren, who were her greatest pride and joy. She was the loving mother of Richard E. Gambino and his wife, Haley, of Whitman; Jillian Nascarella and her husband, Scott, of Whitman; and Kaitlyn Sherman and her husband, Ethan, of Hanover. She was the cherished grandmother of Morgan, Madison, and Jack Nascarella; Joseph, Giada, Olivia, Thomas, and Harrison Gambino; and Ethan and Summer Sherman. Nothing brought Cathy more happiness than being "Caddie" and watching her grandchildren grow, explore, and create lasting memories together. For more than 25 years, Cathy dedicated herself to charitable work with the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry at St. Bridget's church Abington, living her faith through quiet acts of kindness and service to others. Her compassion and generosity touched many lives in her community. Cathy had a deep love for Sandwich and all of Cape Cod. The Sandwich Boardwalk was her heaven on earth, a place where she found peace in the ocean breeze and joy in the laughter of her grandchildren. She treasured days spent clamming, walking and watching her family discover the simple wonders of the Cape. Cathy will be remembered for her warmth, strength, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her home was always open, her heart even more so. Though she will be deeply missed, her love and legacy will live on in the family she cherished beyond measure.
