Charlotte (Clark) Lowe, 90, of Abington, formerly of Weymouth, daughter of Chester and Mary Clark, died June 25, 2010 following a long illness.
Mrs. Lowe was born and grew up in Medford, graduated from Medford High School, and Bridgewater State Teachers College.
Charlotte taught for 30 years in the Weymouth Public Schools, with many of those years teaching third grade at the Johnson Elementary School. In 1944 she married Charles, her high school sweetheart, at age 25 upon his return from serving in the Pacific Theater for the US Army during World War II. They were married for 60 years.
As a child she spent summers boating and swimming at her family's cottage at Wessagussett Beach. Later, she enjoyed spending vacations in Dennisport, Cape Cod with her children. Among her hobbies were painting, knitting, crocheting, and reading.
She was the beloved wife of the late Charles A. Lowe, Jr. She is survived by a son, Charles A. Lowe III and his wife Janet of Weymouth; a daughter Nancy Hunt and her husband Peter of Abington. She is also survived by a grandson, Michael Lowe and wife Shena of Mattapoisett, grandson John Hunt and wife Jennifer of Abington, and granddaughters Carolyn Hunt of Los Angles and Christine Hunt of Brookline.
Funeral from the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street, Abington Wednesday June 30 at 9am, followed by a funeral mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth 10am. Visitation Tuesday 5 to 8pm. Interment MA National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105
