With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Clinton Herbert Hunt Jr. age 90 who left us peacefully on November 22, 2024, surrounded by those who loved him dearly.

Born on January 27, 1934, Clint was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, and companion who lived a life filled with love, laughter, and meaningful connections. He was a man whose life was a testament to his kindness honesty, integrity, community, and family,

He believed in service and began his life's journey by enlisting in the Army and was stationed in Germany.

After his service, he married his childhood sweetheart, Deborah Martha Leach. Their union blessed them with four children. Together, they raised Dennis, Doug, David, and Susan, nurturing a family rooted in love and unity. As a father, Clint's unwavering support and dedication to his children became the foundation of their enduring family legacy.

His professional career, which spanned four decades, saw him as a bus driver for Greyhound, Bonanza, and Rockland Public Schools. Through many safe miles, his passengers and colleagues knew him for his kindness and his gentle smile that accompanied each journey as he navigated from Boston to New York City to Maine.

His children fondly recalled occupying the front seats, where they could spend time with their dad and take in the sights. The Maine Run was everybody's favorite.

Outside of work, Clint had many interests and hobbies.

His passions included basketball, bowling and horseshoes, His backyard was a domain of friendly competition and laughter with his cherished self-built horseshoe pit on Loganberry Drive hosting countless memorable games.

Clint was also an exceptional bowler, and together with Deborah, they racked up their share of strikes and trophies.

Clint was an avid walker who walked daily. He would keep pennies in his pocket and move them from one pocket to another to keep track of his laps at the track. Driven by a dedication to supporting those in need, he completed the 26-mile Jimmy Fund Charity walk many times.

An admirer of sports, Clint's passion for the hometown teams was profound. He playfully named his pet parakeet "Larry Bird" as a homage to #33 and a testament to his enthusiasm for the team.

Attending spring training every year in Florida, The Boston Red Sox held a special place in his heart. Exemplified by the fact that Wally the Green Monster made a surprise visit to his milestone 80th birthday party.

As the best man in his son's wedding, he witnessed the center ice celebration from the penalty box of the Boston Garden. This was a far cry from the homemade skating rinks he built for his sons, which fostered their passion for skating, hockey, and the Boston Bruins.

Aside from sports, lighthouses held a special fascination for Clint. Leading him to many coastal adventures with his companion, Lorrie. Nubble Lighthouse was one of his favorites.

Throughout his life, Clint remained an inspiring presence, delightful and courteous. His twinkling blue eyes greeted each day with a smile and his happy, easy-going demeanor left a trail of kindness wherever he ventured.
