Obituary

Connie was born in St. Albans, Vermont in 1927.  She was educated in Connecticut and spent her high school years during World War II in a private boarding school.  Upon graduation she joined the U.S. Cadet Nurses Corps and trained to become a nurse at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MA.  Upon completion she became a registered nurse, met and married her late husband, Glendon E. Cunningham.  They were married almost 25 years until his fatal heart attack at the age of 45.  Together they had five children.

Connie worked as a nurse for thirty-five years before retiring from the Department of Mental Health.  In her later years she worked for McDonald's part time for 18 years.  She enjoyed her job working with people.

Connie was a grandmother and great grandmother to several.  She is survived by her children and the families of her children, Margaret, Constance, Mary, Donna and Thomas.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, September 13th from 4-7 pm at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington, MA.  A funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 9 am at St. Bridget Church, Abington.  A private family burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Connie's memory to Old Colony Hospice, One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368, or to Father Robert P. Reed, the Catholic TV Network, P.O. Box 9196, Watertown, MA  02471.
