Denise J. Corcoran

Denise J. Corcoran, 92, of Abington, passed away peacefully at home on September 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. 

Born on August 30, 1934, Denise was the daughter of the late Dennis and Joanne Driscoll. After losing both of her parents, she was lovingly taken in and raised by Charles and Katherine Moran of Abington.

Denise was affectionately known as “Ma Corcoran” and “Nana Corcoran” to many throughout Abington. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was well known for enjoying the occasional trip to the slot machines, along with her Smirnoff and Winston 100s.

Denise was a longtime hard worker. She worked at Martin’s Bakery, back when there was a bakery, and later at Trucchi’s, finally retiring at the young age of 85.

Denise was predeceased by her sister, Neila Skinner; her son, Dennis Corcoran; and her grandson, John “JJ” Corcoran.

She is survived by her children, Dana Corcoran of Florida, Mary Mitchell of Abington, and Edward Corcoran and his wife Michele of Connecticut; her sisters, Patricia and her husband Paul of Whitman, Nancy McCarthy of Attleboro, and Charlene Walker of Florida. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Denise’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the team at Croí Hospice for the care and support they provided throughout her final journey. Their compassion helped make Denise’s wish to remain at home possible, something for which her family will be forever grateful.

A visitation will be held at Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street Abington, MA on Tuesday September 29 from 4 PM to 7 PM. A funeral home service will be held on Wednesday September 30 at 10 AM. Interment to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery Rockland.
