Donna Marie
Madden-Aylward
May 17, 1951 – February 12, 2025
Donna Marie Madden-Aylward, 73, of the South Shore, passed away on February 12, 2025, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Chelsea, Donna was the beloved daughter of the late Roy White and Claire Sweeney Nicholsen and stepdaughter of the late John Nicholsen. She was a devoted mother to her three sons, Edward Madden Jr. and his wife Susan of Abington, Shawn Madden of Bridgewater, and Christopher Madden and his wife Aimee of Abington, as well as a cherished stepmother to Monica Aylward of Brockton.
A loving sister, Donna is survived by her sister, Deborah Gauthier of Vero Beach, FL. She also leaves behind her former husband, Edward Madden Sr., and her lifelong best friend, Lauriane Westberg. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to six grandchildren—Stephen, James, Dylan, Kendall, Waylon, and Christopher—who brought immense joy to her life. Donna will also be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Donna was raised in Chelsea before making her home on the South Shore. She had a strong work ethic, beginning her career at Sedell's Pharmacy before later excelling in IT customer service, where she earned multiple professional certifications. She was known for her warm personality and dedication to helping others.
Donna's happiest moments were spent surrounded by family, especially at her grandchildren's sporting events, concerts, and dance recitals. She had a deep love for the beach—whether it was Revere in her younger years, Nantasket, or her favorite getaway in Aruba, the ocean always brought her peace. She treasured the many friendships she built over the years and found great joy in traveling and making lifelong memories with those she loved.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
Donna's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported her throughout her journey. In honor of her love for the beach, family, and friendship, may we all carry forward her spirit of kindness and joy.
