Edward J. Corcoran of Abington, Milton and recently of York, ME passed away peacefully on June 15.

He was the son of the late Edward and Mary (McGrath) Corcoran of Milton and the brother of the late Paul Corcoran of Cape Cod.

Ed graduated from Archbishop Williams High School in 1961 where he made many close, life-long friends. He went onto Stonehill College where he met and married his wife, Kathleen (Jolley) Corcoran. They lived in Abington for 52 years, raising their daughter Maureen Corcoran Barr of York, ME and Ned Corcoran of PA.

Ed loved the town of Abington and served it well over many years, from the Finance Committee, School Committee and Chair, Knights of Columbus, and as a lector at St. Bridget's Church. Over the years, he was a referee for Middle School Basketball, a coach in Abington Youth Hockey, and his all time favorite volunteer role as an umpire in Little League for 45 years.

Ed was a former president of the Braintree Cooperative Bank where he also served as Chairman of the Board and was part of many bank associations. Besides his wife and children, Ed leaves his daughter-in-law Wendy and granddaughters Katie Barr and Melodie Corcoran.  He is survived by his sister-in-law Carol (Jolley) Queeney, many loving nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews and his dear HanCorian cousins with whom he spent many years skiing and at Apres Ski.

Visiting hours will be held at Quealy and Son Funeral Home in Abington on Thursday, June 20 from 4-7. A Memorial Service will be held at South Shore Baptist Church in Hingham on Friday at 10:30am.

Eddie loved being part of the men's bible study on Saturday mornings at South Shore Baptist, so if desired, in lieu of flowers remembrances in his memory may be made to the church at 578 Main St.. Hingham, MA 02043.
