Obituary

Edward J. Parsons, 72, of Birch Harbor, Gouldsboro, Maine, passed away suddenly at his home on June 18, 2025. Born on May 15, 1953, Edward was the beloved son of the late Stephen J. Parsons and Genevieve A. (Zagranis) Parsons.

A graduate of Abington High School, Edward pursued his academic interests in science, earning degrees in both biology and chemistry. He later retired from the United States Postal Service after a dedicated career.

Edward was a man deeply connected to the natural world. He grew up playing hockey and spending countless hours hunting and fishing. His love for nature extended into every season — from tending his garden in the warmer months to observing the wildlife and landscapes he so cherished. He also had a lifelong passion for mechanics, often found tinkering with small engines and fixing whatever he could get his hands on.

He was predeceased by his brother, William Parsons. Edward is survived by his sons: Stephen Parsons and his wife Sherrie, Michael Parsons, and Paul Parsons and his wife Katie. He leaves behind his cherished granddaughters: Rhyan, Aida, and Lily Parsons. He is also survived by his sister Andrea and her husband Gary Ferry, his former wife Janet Parsons, his longtime companion Andrea Enos, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Edward will be remembered for his deep appreciation for the natural world, and the love he held for his family.
