Eleanore V. Oberlander, 84, of Rockland, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died on February 27, 2014. Eleanore passed after a short illness while living in Colden, New York, where she had recently relocated to be closer to her family. She was born on July 23, 1929, in Jamaica Plain, MA. Eleanore is survived by her daughter Kristine Thompson, son Michael McCarthy, grandchildren Ashley and Meghan Meguro, Cory, Kelly, and Hannah Thompson, Aidan and  Rowan McCarthy, and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Mary Lou Ursino, husband Warren W. Oberlander, husband Jerome Edward McCarthy, daughter Eleanor (Bonnie) Oberlander, son Warren W. Oberlander, and grandchild Ciara Leblanc Daley.  Eleanore will be remembered as a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend. She will be missed and remembered by all of those who loved her. Memorial Visitation will be held at Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams St., Abington, Saturday, August 2, 2014, 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m.  Interment in Mount Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury, will be private.
