Eric C. Metzler, 64, of Rockland, formerly of Randolph, passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 12, 2012.
Eric was born in Weymouth, son of the late A. Raymond Metzler and Rhoda Metzler of Lititz, PA, who survives. He is also survived by his sister Nancy Gale and husband Roger of Woodstock, CT; their daughters Tracy Gale, Lauren Farley (and husband James) and Krista Gale; his brother Steven Metzler and wife Patty of Lawrence, KS; and their sons Christopher (and wife Meghan), Scott, Paul and Peter. In addition, Eric is survived by his great-nieces Sydney Farley and Emma Metzler.
Formerly a long-time employee of Armstrong Cork Co. in Braintree, Eric worked for Litecontrol in Hanson up until shortly before his death. He graduated from Randolph High School and Chamberlayne Junior College. A veteran, he served in Vietnam with the U.S. Naval Mobile Contruction Battalion.
Eric enjoyed boating with his many friends; listening to music; reading about classic cars, history and sports; helping to organize his high school reunions and rooting for his beloved Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and Bruins.
Eric's family invites his friends and loved ones to celebrate his life on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at Quealy and Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington, MA 02351, with visiting hours from 1-3 p.m., followed by a brief service.
Donations in Eric's memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the American Diabetes Association.
