B. Esther Griffin, life time resident of Abington, passed away surrounded her loving family on Monday July 8, 2024 in Ringwood, NJ. Esther was born on November 30, 1926. She was 97 years old at her time of passing.
Esther was the fourth of six children of the late Annie Ward Griffin & Lawrence Griffin. She is predeceased by her siblings Lawrence, Mary, Tesse, Vincent and James. She was the twin to Vincent.
Esther was the loving aunt to Lawrence, Gail, Jean, Tom, Cathy, Brian, Judy, Jane as well as the late Robert, Jimmy, Timothy and Christopher.
Esther spent her entire life in Abington. She was born here and went to school in the Abington School System, where she graduated from the high school in 1944. Esther worked at Wolworths for many years and then went on to work in the Norwell Public Schools in 1993, where she worked twenty-two years as a payroll/bookkeeper.
Esther loved to dance and party with her family and friends. She always enjoyed traveling all over including parts of United States, Italy, Ireland and Bermuda.
Esther was a devoted member to the St. Bridget's Sodality group. She took her faith very seriously was very active in the church.
Some fellow coworkers of Esther would describe her as: dedicated, loyal professional, upbeat attitude, great humor, quiet strength, exciting to be in her company.
Esther was truly loved by all who knew her she will be missed dearly.
A visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington, MA on Monday, July 15, from 4pm to 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday July 16, at 10:30 AM at St. Bridget's Church, 455 Plymouth Street, Abington, MA. Interment to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery Rockland.
