Frances "Mickey"
Cratty
April 21, 1929 – January 24, 2022
Frances Catherine Cratty, known by everyone as Mickey, died on January 24, 2022 at the age of 92. Mickey was born on April 21, 1929 and was a lifelong resident of the Greater Boston area. She raised her children in Medway and Quincy and spent another 30 years living in Abington. She spent her final year's happy and content living at the Pope Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Weymouth.
Mickey was a woman of simple needs who always enjoyed the things in life that cost very little. She was most proud of her life as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and took great pleasure in relaying tales and sharing pictures of all the grandchildren with everyone she met. They were her shining light.
She was the beloved mother of Bob Cratty, Rox Cratty, Cathy Goodrich and her husband Rob, Pam Cratty, DJ Cratty, Michael Cratty and his wife Mary and Barbara Maskell and her husband David. She was predeceased by her son Jamie Cratty. She was the cherished grandmother to Ryan and his wife Michelle, Jacquelin and her husband Tim, Eric, Tiffany, Alan, Nicholas, Robert, Jesse Kyle, and Jamie. She was also survived by her great grandchildren Ryan, Mikey, Adam, Danielle, and Andy. She had many nieces and nephews including her God daughter Marian Nania.
Her favorite past times were reading, playing bingo and a competitive game of cribbage. She always played to win and she usually did, but she would often give her prize away to another if she thought they could use it more. True to her New England roots, she was an avid Patriots fan and loved watching the games with a football buddy, a pleasure she enjoyed well into her later years at the nursing home.
She had a quick sarcastic wit that brought laughter and smiles to everyone she touched. She was also an animal lover and spent much of her time watching birds and deer from her window, but most of all she loved dogs.
There will be a visitation on Sunday January 30 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at the Quealy Funeral Home in Abington. A funeral home service will follow on Monday January 31 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree.
