Obituary

Francis Paul Leary, known to family and friends as Skip, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. He leaves behind wife Eileen T. Leary (nee Foley), sons Michael Leary, David Leary, and Timothy Leary, and daughters Jeanne Leary Meuse and Patricia Leary Stringer. He also leaves nine grandchildren Amy, Joey, and Scotty Meuse, Jack, Brendan, and Bridget Leary, Michael Leary Jr., and Liam and Nara Leary. He was preceded in death by grandson David Leary. Born in Boston, Skip grew up in Roxbury and attended Boston Trade High School. He graduated in 1948, enlisted in the United States Navy, and served during the Korean Conflict. He worked for New England Telephone Company and retired after 35 years of service as a manager. Skip moved with wife Eileen to Abington in 1954 and was a member of St. Bridget's Parish. He enjoyed singing in the St. Bridget's Men's Choir and was a proud member of Abington VFW Post #5737. Funeral from the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street, Abington Friday May 2 at 8am followed by a funeral mass in St. Bridget Church, Abington 9am. Visitation Thursday 5 to 8pm. Interment Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Abington.
