Gregory A.
Brodeur
February 23, 1978 – September 29, 2025
Gregory Andrew Brodeur, of Abington, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, at the Pat Roche Hospice House, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife, Rachel, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was 47 years old.
Born on February 23, 1978, in Quincy, Greg was the beloved son of Kenneth and Nancy Brodeur (Gallo) of Braintree. He grew up in Braintree, graduating from Archbishop Williams High School with the Class of 1997. After graduating high school he worked for a moving company, NEOC where he made several lifelong friends. After a few years he decided to join the carpenters union following his father's footsteps. He went on to become a skilled carpenter and proud member of Carpenter's Union Local 327, where he specialized in doors and hardware—a craft passed down to him by his father.
Greg and Rachel married in 2012 and built their home in Abington. Together, they raised their two greatest accomplishments, Andrew (age 10) and Aiden (age 8). A dedicated and loving father, Greg found his greatest joy fishing with his boys on their boat, Kickin' Bass, and coaching their sports teams. He coached Abington Youth Football, Abington Youth Baseball, and Abington Flag Football, leading Aiden's team to two championship victories. His dedication and passion made a lasting impact on the many children he guided, and he will always be remembered as a favorite coach by players and parents alike.
Greg's warmth and generosity extended far beyond his family. He cherished lifelong friendships, as well as the new bonds he formed while coaching his sons' sports teams over the years. With the same close-knit group of friends he had since elementary school, Greg was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer thoughtful advice, or share one of his famously long phone calls. A hardworking man with incredible drive, he touched countless lives with his loyalty, humor, and kindness.
Greg is survived by his wife, Rachel Brodeur (Johnson) of Abington, and their two sons, Andrew and Aiden. He was the loving son of Kenneth and Nancy Brodeur (Gallo) of Braintree. In addition to his wife, children, and parents, Greg is survived by his sister, Jennifer Santoro, her husband, Joe, and their daughter, Ava of Ridgefield, CT.
Greg's legacy is one of love, dedication, and devotion—to his family, his friends, his work, and his community. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will be held at Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington, MA, on Monday, October 6, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Bridget's Church in Abington on Tuesday, October 7, at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Pat Roche Hospice House in Greg's memory, in gratitude for the care and compassion they provided to Greg and his family in his final days.
