Obituary

Helen G. (Curtis) Cheverie of Abington passed away at the Norwell Knoll Nursing Home in Norwell on June 6, 2011 at the age of 95.  She hd been a resident of the Norwell Knoll Nursing Home for the passed two years where the staff had taken excellent care of her which was greatly appreciated by all of her family. Loving wife of the late William H. Cheverie.  Devoted mother of Carol McAfee of North Carolina, Lois D'Orazio of Florida, Joan Rodgers of Halifax, Marilyn Becker of Florida, Kathleen Berry and her husband Richard of Hingham, Lorraine Tamulevich and her husband John of Marshfield, Robert Cheverie and his wife Janice of Connecticut, Joyce Spirito and her husband Michael of Canton.  Sister of the late Agnes Curtis of Chelsea, the late Frank Curtis of Danvers, and James Curtis of New Seabury.  A cherished grandmother, great grandmother, and a great-great grandmother.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Helen loved being with her family, going to Nantasket Beach, playing cards, yard sales and auctions and a day at the casino.  She was always ready to go anywhere and her smile and positive attitude was a gift she shared with everyone.  She enjoyed the many jokes her brother Jim would mail to her and would readily share them with family and friends. She was blessed with wonderful neighbors and many friends throughout her life.  She was a longtime member of St. Bridget Church in Abington where her faith and strong spiritual life was an inspiration to everyone.  She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Mass to be celebrated at St. Bridget's Church, Plymouth Street, Abington, MA on Thursday, June 16 at 9:00 AM.  Burial will be private. Visitation has been omited per the family request.
