Hinton Smith of Abington, April 28, 2011. Beloved husband of the late Ella P. Smith, uncle of Mary Parkman of New Orleans, and many nieces and nephews living across the country. Hinton grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, graduating from Xavier University. He went on to become a research chemist, where he contributed to the growing fields of vitamin research and nuclear medicine during his career at the Veterans Hospital in Jamaica Plain. He served with honor in the Army Air Force during World War II. Smitty, as he was called by his many friends, was known for his positive outlook and wide smile. He was beloved by all who knew him. A funeral service will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington Tuesday May 3 at 12:00pm. Visitation Tuesday 11:30am to 12:00pm. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
