He was the cherished son of Catherine DeMarco and Alonzo Gathers of Weymouth and the loving brother of Demere Brave of New York. He is also survived by his devoted aunts and uncle, Marie DeMarco of Weymouth and James DeMarco and his wife Jackie Oliverio of Braintree. James was a dear cousin to Alyssa Stewart of Weymouth, Tyler DeMarco, and Elizabeth Hachey of Braintree. He was blessed with loving godparents, Marie DeMarco of Weymouth and Todd Haskell of Atlanta, who held a special place in his life.
James had a heart full of love and a spirit that could brighten any room. From an early age, he adored his parents and would jump for joy the moment they walked through the door. His signature "teddy bear hugs" were a cherished gift to all his family members, and his radiant smile had the power to make anyone's day better.

He played baseball with the Braintree American Challenger League and enjoyed basketball, riding the quad, playing on his swing set, and even lending a hand with gardening. His vibrant personality made him a superstar when it came to singing—he could captivate any audience.
One of James' greatest joys was watching Cops and practicing arrests on his beloved "My Buddy" doll, a testament to his playful and imaginative spirit. Above all, he was his parents' pride and joy, a son who brought immeasurable love and happiness to those around him.
