James Earl
Leavitt
April 20, 1974 – January 18, 2015
James Earl Leavitt, age 40, passed away unexpectedly in Abington on January 18. Born on April 20, 1974, he was the only son of Judith (Pickering) Leavitt Kerr. He attended Whitman-Hanson High School, and later earned his G.E.D.
Jim worked for many years as a shipper/receiver for the Hart Corporation in Hingham, MA, and, most recently, as a shipper/receiver for a mailing company.
Jimmy lived with his mom and extended family in Weymouth for a number of years, and then moved to Whitman and later, Abington. Jim loved to spend time in Pennsylvania with his Aunt Gayle and Uncle Tom, and with the love of his life, Natalie Patterson.
Jimmy greatly enjoyed playing golf, and was an avid dart player. Being from the Boston area, he was, of course, a huge fan of the Patriots and the Red Sox. Jimmy and his girlfriend, Natalie, both loved the animals they shared, including Bebe, Lacey, Riley, Stanley, Butters, and Wendy.
Jimmy was the beloved only son of Judy Kerr. He was the loving grandson of the late Robert Pickering and Grace (Roberts) Pickering, and the late Mildred Leavitt of Maine. In addition, Jimmy is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, January 23, 2015 at LifeQuest Community Church, 356 South Avenue in Whitman at 6:00 PM. A light meal will follow the service, and all are welcome to stay. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a fund to assist with funeral and burial expenses. This fund can be accessed on Facebook, or through http://www.gofundme.com/kh5jio.
