James R. "Jimmy" or "Big Jim" Waterman of Abington passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on August 5th, 2024, at the age of 57. Born in Brockton, MA, to the late Nancy (Perkins) Waterman and Russel "Redd" Waterman, Jimmy spent his early years in Halifax, where he developed a lifelong love for the outdoors and a deep connection with his community.

Jimmy attended Silver Lake High School, where he was not only a dedicated student but also a talented athlete, excelling in football and hockey. His love for sports and the outdoors continued throughout his life, and he was an avid follower of NASCAR and F1 racing with his sons.  He also enjoyed golfing with his sons and close friends.

In the construction trade, Jimmy's exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail set him apart. He worked for Control Environmental Systems for two decades, where he rose from a laborer to Director of Operations. Known for his unwavering work ethic and leadership, he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Jimmy's unique ability to bring humor into any situation made him a cherished friend to many, and his quick wit and unforgettable one-liners brought joy to everyone around him.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Cheryl and his sons, Kyle Waterman, Christopher Grazioso Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Matthew Grazioso, and James Waterman Jr., as well as his cherished granddaughter, Aurora.

He will be deeply missed by his close-knit, extended family and countless friends who became family over the years. Jimmy's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home on Thursday August 8 from 4 PM to 7 PM. A funeral service will be held Friday 10 AM at the funeral home.
