(Packard) Wolcott
September 29, 1945 – August 11, 2025
Janice Marie (Packard) Wolcott, 79, of Kingston, passed away peacefully at her home on Aug. 11. She was the daughter of the late Carlton Richard and Priscilla (White) Packard of Rockland.
Janice and her late husband David Wolcott Sr. of Abington were high school sweethearts and happily married for 55 years. They are survived by their son David Wolcott Jr. and his wife Kimberly (Allen) Wolcott of Plymouth, and their daughter Lisa Wolcott of Kingston.
The oldest of five children, Janice is survived by Patricia Packard of Kingston, Rick Packard and his partner Helen Markgren of Plymouth, Gail MacDonald and her husband Stephen of Whitman, and Daniel Packard and his wife Stephanie of Middleborough.
Janice is also survived by brother-in-law Harvey Wolcott and his wife Kathy of North Port, FL, sister-in-law Joanne Wolcott of Middleborough, Kevin Wolcott and his wife Felicia of St. Augustine, Fla, Mark Wolcott of Abington, sister-in-law Debbie Wolcott of Wareham, Gail Ricketson and her husband Brad Ricketson of Urbana, Il., and Jerry Wolcott and his partner Phyllis Pierce of Pittsfield.
Janice is predeceased in death by her sister-in-law Valerie Packard of Plymouth, brother-in-law Roger Wolcott of Middleborough, and brother-in-law Wayne Wolcott Sr. of Wareham.
Janice was a cheerleading captain at Rockland High. It was there that she met the love of her life, David, a standout athlete at rival Abington High.
After graduation, Janice worked at E.T. Wright's in Rockland. She also worked as a cashier at Angelo's Supermarket and then Purity Supreme before moving on to a career as a popular bank teller at Eastern Bank and then Rockland Trust before retiring. Janice loved being around her family and watching her favorite football hero Tom Brady play for the New England Patriots.
Fondly known as Jana Banana to all of her nieces and nephews, her love of children made Janice everyone's favorite babysitter.

A visitation will be held at Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street Abington on Thursday August 21, from 5 PM to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Church 403 Union Street Rockland on Friday August 22, at 9 AM. Interment to follow Holy Family Cemetery Rockland.
