Joan F. Murphy of Abington, formerly of Quincy and Dorchester, passed August 10, 2024, age 88, beloved wife of 68 years to Jim Murphy; Loving mother of Brenda Galante and the late Michael Murphy; Loving sister to Elaine Miller, the late Rita Clifford, the late Virginia O'Neil; Also, survived and loved by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joan was born in Boston and was raised in Dorchester. She graduated from Mt. Saint Joseph's Academy in Brighton. Joan was a devout Irish catholic, regularly attending mass at St. Bridget Church in Abington. Joan loved her years as a lunch lady at Woodsdale Elementary School in Abington. She was a movie buff, die hard Red Sox fan, and a Saturday night regular at D'Ann's Restaurant. Joan was famous for her spaghetti sauce and meatballs and Wednesday night bingo winnings at the Knights of Columbus in Abington.

Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington on Friday August 16 from 4pm to 7pm. A funeral mass will be held in St. Bridget Church, Abington on Saturday at 10:30am. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland.
