Joanne D. Borden (Amero) passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, at the age of 82, surrounded by her loving family. Joanne was born on March 19, 1943, in Boston, MA. She was the daughter to the  late Augusta Hoyle of Boston, MA, and Joseph Amero of Gloucester, MA, Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Anthony D'Amato and Arthur D'Amato.

She was the beloved wife of James R. Borden Sr., with whom she shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life in Abington, MA, and later retired to Naples, FL.

Joanne was a devoted mother to Suzanne Crooker and her husband Butch of Holbrook, MA; Joseph Borden of Bourne, MA; and James Borden Jr. and his wife Mary (Sprague) of Leesburg, FL. She was the cherished sister of Patricia Manley and her husband Thomas of Braintree, MA, and Joseph Sullivan of Hanover, MA, and his wife Nancy.

Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren: Tyler Kirwan and his wife Anya Kirwan, Jacqueline Borden, Kevin Crooker and his wife Jessica Crooker, Ryan Crooker and his wife Morgan Crooker, Juliana Borden, and Olivia Borden; and in her great-grandchildren: Joanna, Brooke, Jayce, Caroline, and Grace. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Joanne grew up in South Boston and was a proud graduate of South Boston High School. She lived in Abington for 38 years before retiring to Naples, FL, where she enjoyed 22 years of sunshine and relaxation. She returned to Bridgewater, MA, in April 2024.

Joanne loved traveling, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and taking trips to the casino—fondly known as "taking the ride."

Visitation will be held at Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street Abington on Wednesday May 7, 2025 from 4 PM to 7 PM. Followed by a funeral home service at 7 PM.

Interment to be held in private at a later date.
