John Katibian, 89, of Hull, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on May 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving daughters.

John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Evelyn Katibian (Floren), with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. He leaves behind his loving daughters, Linda Katibian and Thomas Crook of Easton, MA., Laurie and Robert Buxbaum of Hollis, NH., Sandra Meegan of Abington, MA., and Susan and Thomas Hickie of Pembroke, MA.  He was the proud and loving Papa to his 10 grandchildren, Kelly Crook, Daniel and Michael Buxbaum, Jill, Jessica, and John Meegan, Lauren, Cassandra, Tommy, and Caroline Hickie all of whom brought immense joy and happiness to his life. He is survived by his loving brother, Charles Katibian, and sister-in-law, Susan, as well as many nieces and nephews.

John was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. He attended the University of Rhode Island, where he earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Business Administration while working at Stop & Shop and raising his young family — an accomplishment that reflected his determination, strong work ethic, and devotion to those he loved. Following the completion of his education, John began a long and successful career in banking, serving as Vice President of Operations at Bank of Boston until his retirement. John was an avid tennis player and enjoyed playing basketball with his South End friends. He loved sports, reading, jogging, and later in life, taking long walks along Nantasket Beach.

His daughters, grandchildren, brother, lifelong basketball friends, nieces, nephews, and neighbors were all an important and cherished part of his life. John's kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family will forever be remembered and deeply missed.
