John Charles Shirriff of Abington Massachusetts, 80 years old, passed peacefully with his family by his side, at Pat Roche Hospice house on Tuesday June 20, 2023, after a 5 year battle with dementia.

John was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandpa/ Papa  to his wife Elaine Shirriff of 48 years.  Daughter Crystal Shirriff and grandpa/papa to his grandchildren, Michael Nelson, Laci Shirriff,  Jessica Turowski and great grandpa to Cadence Turowski.

John was born in Toronto Canada, raised by his beloved parents John and Marie Shirriff along with his sisters Adele and survived by sister Nan, and brother Frank.

John loved his 30 year career as an electrical engineer at Mass Electric. He loved to travel to Florida with his wife and best friends, He loved to run, walk, stay active, and socialize. John was a kind and gentle soul he made lots of friends over the years and will be missed by so many.

Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington on Sunday June 25   from 5 to 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday June 26th at  St. Bridget Church, Abington at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery Abington.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be sent to Pat Roche Hospice Home, 86 Turkey Hill Ln., Hingham, MA 02043.
