Obituary

MSG retired Joseph D. Colantoni, 78 of Bridgewater, lost his battle with cancer on March 2. He was born on 11 Dec 1934 in Boston, the son of the late John and Viola Colantoni (Danieli). He is survived by long time love Gracie Guerrero; his loving sons Joseph A. Colantoni and wife Nicole of Milton VT, Stephen P. Colantoni and wife Theresa of Whitman, his sisters Josie Praino and husband Jerry of Wareham and Marie Flynn of Mansfield, and sister in-law Mary Colantoni or Foxboro. He is also survived by Gracie's children CMDR Joseph Guerrero and wife Jen and Therese and husband George Dolbec. He was the loving grandfather of Michael and Natalie Colantoni and known as papa to Matthew Dolbec. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Sgt. Michael J. Colantoni; and his brother Dominic Colantoni. Joe devoted his life to the military. He served in the Korean War and continued his military service throughout his life. He was a veteran, a veteran advocate, avid supporter and member of the VFW, American Legion, Top 3 Military Retiree, and USV-VE. Joe impacted many lives while serving the Town of Abington as the Veterans Agent for almost 20 years. Visiting hours will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street, Abington Wednesday March 6 from 4 to 8pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday March 7 at St. Bridget Church in Abington at 9 am. Interment will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
