Joseph A. Gutowski, age 64,  of Rockland passed away unexpectedly on February 27, 2014.  Joe was born in Brockton, MA while growing up in North Abington, MA. Joe lived  many years in Bridgewater, MA. The son of the late Mary Rice Gutowski and Adolph Gutowski.  Joe leaves three children, Scott Kumo, Lisa Pond, and Stacie Best. Joe is also survived by several grandchildren and his former wife, Maureen. Joe leaves two uncles, Stanley and wife Eileen Duda of Raynham along with Frank and Dorothy Duda of Taunton, along with many cousins and friends in the area such as long time friend George Harkins. Joe attended Abington Schools, graduated from Massasoit Community College and Stonehill College in 1973.  He worked as a manager of Fernandes Supermarkets in Bridgewater, Ma and then worked in various sales positions for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company and John Hancock Insurance Company.  He was recently retired, volunteered at The Rockland Food Pantry and loved following the Boston sports teams especially the Patriots and Red Sox.  Joe was an avid golfer and a member of local country clubs.  Joe will be missed for the comical way he had with all those who knew him and for the way he would tell a story. A funeral Service will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams, Abington Tuesday March 4 at 11am. Visitation will be held before funeral service Tuesday 10am to 11am. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland.
