Joseph J. Nevaras of Halifax died on October 24, 2022, known to close friends and family as "JJ". Joseph is the son of Joseph V. and Linda E. (DiBiase) Nevaras of Abington. He leaves his brother, Jeffrey Nevaras of West Bridgewater, and his nieces, Cassandra, Alexandra, and Violet Nevaras. Also, Aunt/God Mother Loretta, and her husband Kevin Manning of Rockland, Aunt Evelyn Nevaras of Bridgewater, and late Aunt, Sister Geraldine Nevaras of our Lady of Sorrows convent in Brockton. Joseph attended Abington public schools and worked for the Department of Mental Health. He was an avid bodybuilder and an expert in several martial art disciplines. Joseph also worked part-time caring for animals, loved working in the garden, and loved his pets. These activities brought him much joy and relaxation.

Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington on Sunday November 6 from 4 to 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held Monday November 7 in St. Bridget Church, 455 Plymouth Street, Abington at 10:30am. Burial will be private.
